Conservative commentator Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson says women need to get written permission from their fathers or a male relative before they can start dating or having sex.
“I believe this would cut down on the number of unwanted pregnancies, a problem that is plaguing the black community,” said Peterson in an interview in The Conservative Chronicle. “Men have better judgement than women, and they can tell what another man’s intentions are.”
This is not the first time Peterson has made controversial statements about women’s issues. In the past, he said the country started going downhill when women got the right to vote.
“We should have never turned that over to women. There are more women out there voting than men now … and these women are voting in the wrong people. They are voting in people who are evil, who agree with them, who are going to take us down this pathway of destruction,” said Peterson in a YouTube video.
Peterson also recently published a column in far-right website World Net Daily blaming black women for acts of violence inflicted on their sons.
“We see the mothers of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown out front acting innocent and sweet. In reality, these women are primarily responsible for the inner rage that drove the teens to their deaths,” he said.
